Getting things done is the way to get on in life.  If you want to get on in your career and personal life you will need to get things done.  In the modern world, however, there are lots of different people wanting lots of different things to be done, and you can’t do everything for everyone, unless you get much better at a number of different things.

Delegates will gain the personal insight and practical skills to develop and implement a framework for successful time management. You will also learn proven tools and techniques to make better day-to-day choices about investing your time and achieving your goals.

This workshop aims to help you to get better at managing your life to allow you to more of the things done that you need to get done. We will share 50 secrets group into seven themed modules and if you follow the secrets you will find that you amaze yourself at how much you can actually achieve.

The seven Modules are:

Knowing what things to do:

You need to know what it is that needs to be done. You also need to be happy that you are doing the right thing.

This module aims to recognise the value of using your time wisely and to develop some foundation strategies to help you manage your time. You need to ensure that the things you do are of value both to you and your organisation. Set your personal vision.

Knowing how to do things:

Sometime you have to do things in a way that is laid down by the organisation: other times it is up to you.

  • Decide if HOW is important
  • Fit into a bigger process
  • Find out how others do it
  • Set quality measures
  • Know how to KISS
Knowing when to do things:

You aren’t likely to have just one thing to do – you probably have loads, so you need to know how to prioritise tasks.

  • Prioritise this – or that?
  • Look at effort vs pay-off
  • Use your body clock
  • Schedule for task dependency, resource dependency and for concurrent activity
  • Use your waiting time
Working to your plan:

You know what and how you want to work, but people keep distracting you. How do you manage distractions so that you can get things done?

  • Deal with people and other distractions
  • Use technology
  • Be aware of the SEVEN Wastes of Time
  • Manage your meetings
  • Fight fatigue
  • Practice good housekeeping
  • Avoid procrastination
  • Sharpen the saw
Saying “NO”:

You could get it all done if only people wouldn’t keep asking you to do other things. You need to learn when to say NO.

Dealing with problems:

You thought you could do the job in an hour, but something has gone wrong. Learn how to prevent and solve these problems.

  • Assess risk sensibly

  • Learn how to improvise
Asking others to do things:

Sometimes the best way to do something is to get someone else to do it for you.  This shows how you can successfully enlist the help of other people.

This part of the workshop will provide a stream of insights you can use to ramp up your productivity in all areas of life.

Delegates will be shown that becoming more effective in life doesn’t always come down to a single formula; huge leaps forward often result from those aha moments that seem to come from nowhere. You will learn how to master your time, your relationships and your life and will be encouraged to change your life and the strategies to take your life to the next level of understanding and success.
