Module 1 Transport selection and cost
  • Explain the Concept of Intermodal Transport
  • Explain the Concept of Modal Selection
  • Explain the role which Costs play in Modal Selection
  • Outline the Forwarder’s role when advising the client on Transport Options

  • Factors to consider when selecting the transport mode
  • The role of the freight forwarder
  • The structure of an invoice
Module 2 The Purpose and Structure of an Import/Export Invoice
  • The difference between an estimate and an invoice
  • Why an estimate is important
  • The structure of an invoice
  • Costing codes and their purpose
Module 3 Factors affecting an Estimate/Invoice
  • Explain the advantage of Tariff Agreements and records
  • Summarise the role which Foreign Currencies play in Estimates and Invoices
  • Explain the importance of Exchange rates in an Estimate or Invoice
  • Summarise other important factors which have a bearing on the Estimate and Invoice

Module 6 Freight Calculations
  • Explain the concepts of Freight Tonnage and Chargeable Weight
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the effect of Costs on a Transaction
